Welcome to the 2015-2016 season by our new President Luke Gruden.

PYHA Families, on behalf of the club board of directors and executive team, I would like to welcome you to the 2015-2016 hockey season! This season we will have over 400 kids participating on teams in House programs, the Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL), as well as the Central States Development Hockey League (CSDHL).

Hi, my name is Luke Gruden; I am your new president for PYHA. My passion for the sport really is what drives me to lead our club. That, and the fact we have had several people who have worked very hard for many years to get us to the successful position we find ourselves in now. It is a great honor and a privilege to follow someone like Drew Cassidy who has done so much for the organization.

It is our organizations goal to get you accurate information as quickly as possible. With an organization of our size that can be a challenging goal. I encourage you to check our website frequently. We will try to update the site as information becomes available. I also would encourage you to like our FACEBOOK page as that is also a great way of communication to a large group of people.

I am happy to announce that registration is now open!!!! The registration rates for the 2015-2016 season will remain the same as last season. Go to PYHA.org and follow the registration links to begin the process. Payment plans are available starting in July

There are two big changes to note this season. First, there will be NO Mite travel hockey. This is a NIHL decision in which I support. NIHL based that decision off of a poll from all NIHL teams. They confirmed that an overwhelming amount of organizations will follow USA Hockey’s ADM module. We will have more information to follow for those who would like to expand Mite house league and travel outside of our organization to participate in several cross ice jamborees and tournaments.

Secondly, we have purchased a new style of jerseys and socks from Bauer for our Travel teams. The away jerseys will be navy in the Buffalo Sabres pattern while the home jerseys will be the Nashville yellow/navy jersey. In addition, we will be adding a new pants requirement to the uniform for travel players. A custom stripe on the side of the navy pants will complete the uniform. Pants will be available for purchase. If you already have navy pants that fit, we will have pant shells available.

We are very fortunate to have high quality coaches, dedicated hard working board members and executives, and great amenities at the Owens Center to help develop our young athletes. Now is a great time to be a part of PYHA.

Lastly, I would ask two things of all of you. First, remember our Board is made up of volunteers who all work diligently to make PYHA better. If you have an issue or a question please feel free to contact me or another board member. Second, please get involved. If you would like to help out with a PYHA event or get involved as a coach or manager let us know. We are always looking to the future for good people to help make PYHA successful.

For all the years I have been involved with the game, and that includes playing as a kid, college or with the Peoria Rivermen, the thing I love best about our game of hockey is the people you meet and the family you become part of. I want everyone to feel like a welcomed member of our PYHA family.

Best of luck this season!

Luke Gruden
